Non-CITE Verizon employees and their immediate family members (i.e., son, daughter, sister, brother, grandchildren), or anyone who has legal/permanent residence in the household of an employee of Verizon or its affiliates, are ineligible to receive a CITE scholarship award.
A. Applicant must be African - American and a United States citizen.
B. Applicant must be accepted by accredited college/university and a full-time student pursuing a degree discipline at any college, vocational or technical college. 
C. In lieu of GPA would have to write a 500 word essay as to how you got to this point in your life and what are your goals and how will you go about achieving them.
D. APPLICANT must major in one of the required Business related majors. (Advertising, Marketing, Business, Finance, Accounting , Engineering/Electrical/Industrial, Math and Computer Science/Information Technology)
E. Applicant must provide proof of enrollment before actual allocation of the awarded funds.
F. Total Family Income of Applicant must be $55,000 per year or less.
G. The application must be postmarked by Friday, March 21, 2008.
H. Applicant must be recommended by their Local CITE Affiliate or HBCU.
I. TO RECEIVE A SCHOLARSHIP AWARD, RECIPIENT MUST ATTEND THE ENTIRE 2008 CITE CONFERENCE.  Recipient may need to arrive June 5th – one day before the conference. (NOTE: The 2008 CITE conference will be held June 5-June 8, 2008  at the Hilton Washington, 1919 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington DC 20009.
CITE will cover most expenses for the scholarship recipient to include travel, lodging and conference registration fees. Additional information regarding hotel and transportation will be provided at a later date. Incomplete or late Applications will not be considered.
